I have been going to Chesters for over thirty years now and the quality of food never wavers. The service is good, personal and you always have a cheery welcome and are made to feel that you are a special customer. They do an early birds special. I have never been there without having to book in advance it is always busy so expect a relaxing time and linger over the mouth watering food.

We have been many times to Chesters and over the years have always had very good meals & excellent service – the type you rarely see these days. We used to go for special occasions and order the Chateaubriand as the restaurant specialises in great steaks. Nowadays we go more often & make use of the early doors menu which offers great food at good value prices eg. Tues-Thurs 6-9pm 2 courses £13.50 or 3 courses £15.50. There is a good choice of options on the Table D’Hote menu. I have enjoyed the Pork Medallions with Diane Sauce and Grilled Goats Cheese even though I am not vegetarian. There is also a roast dinner option for those wanting something more traditional. It is always good to book your table beforehand as Chesters is always busy these days. The owner Pepe always makes you feel a valued customer.

Not only is this a family run restaurant but my family view it as ‘our family restaurant’. We have celebrated most of our special family events there such as birthdays and anniversaries. We know that we are always guaranteed good fresh food in pleasant surroundings. The staff are always welcoming and polite – nothing is too much trouble. We know that we can take anyone there for a meal and not be disappointed. I always took forward to the next visit!

Being new to the area we chose this restaurant on the recommendation of a friend. There is a great atmosphere about the place created by the decor. Whilst it had slightly less finesse than some establishments we have visited (paper serviettes, no red wine glasses etc) I can honestly say the meals we had were superb. In particular the meat was of the highest quality. Relative to London and the south the prices were very reasonable. The wine list was very good and again not eye wateringly expensive. I chose a Barolo, which was at the top end and just over £30, not bad for restaurant pricing. Don’t hesitate to book here when in Macclesfield.

Well it’s taken us over 20+ years to go even though we live in Macclesfield and we were not disappointed. We went on aFriday eve and it was very busy. We were seated right in a corner, and we’re told that they were busy and apologised for position of the table, but it worked out ok as we were away from the noise and had the benefit of sitting near the open back door as it was a hot evening! The menu was great and we ordered from the set menu and we’re not disappointed, the portions were great and all tasted very fresh. The wine we chose was lovely too. All in all a lovely night and lace to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary. Will definitely return
